Abstract

Bioactive compounds such as antimicrobial cationic peptides and plant derivatives such as flavonoids have been highlighted in the literature due to their therapeutic range. The aim of this study is to evaluate the in vitro evaluation of cell viability and induction capacity of dentin mineralization of the combination of antimicrobial peptide KR-12-a5 to EGCG (Epigallocathecin gallate). First, we intend to evaluate the cell viability in combination of KR-12-a5 and EGCG on pulp undifferentiated cells (hDPC) by assays using the Alamar Blue® method. In addition, the mineralization inducing capacity of the combination will be evaluated by alkaline phosphatase (ALP) assays, total protein production (PT) and mineralized nodule formation (NM - Alizarin red dye assay). With this study, we intend to propose an alternative of combined natural compounds that have interesting therapeutic properties as active ingredient of endodontic medication.
