Abstract

The development and increase in the number of crops in agriculture recently has led to greater efficiency in world food production and greater consumption of pesticides. In this context, the disordered use of pesticides has affected the entire food production, also influencing the decrease in the population of pollinating insects, as well as causing food contamination. Therefore, simple, low-cost and quick methods can be interesting alternatives for checking the quality of foods such as honey from bees. In this project, microfluidic devices are proposed for the electrochemical analysis of carbendazim and fipronil pesticides in Apis Mellifera honey. Two different devices will be proposed. One of them will be from a system of polylactic acid and conductive electrodes using 3D printing coupled with a microfluidic system on paper. A second device will be created from a paper microfluidic system coupled to thermoplastic electrodes. These devices are versatile platforms for food analysis based on electroanalysis, capable of performing detection in low concentrations.
