Abstract

This project proposes the development of an intelligent tool based on a microprocessor board, taking advantage of a wireless connection to the internet to attain and process meteorological data, which shall be used to locally adjust the real-time operation of a smart inverter. An automatic data acquisition functionality is targeted as a research goal, being devised by the interaction between the microprocessor board and an application programming interface (API) accessed through the internet. Such a computational system should allow to obtain the weather information registered by small meteorological stations at different locations around the world, also giving support to the development of decision-making algorithms (e.g., such as those based on artificial intelligence) to make possible an optimized power processing for the inverter. This project focuses on performing experiments and implementing an approach capable of emulating the insertion of smart inverters into the "Energy Internet" network. (AU)
