Abstract

This project is part of a larger effort by the Laboratory of Biogeography and Health Geography (BioGeoS), which, in turn, has been developing research that considers supporting life in terms of Public Health. At the same time, it is worth noting that studies on youth have been one of the laboratory's concerns, enhancing geographic knowledge that is primarily concerned with life. This project follows the same reasoning, considering the accomplishment of previous works that contributed to the formulation of its central theme: young people in situations of neither study nor work. As a result, it is notable that there are several stigmas attributed to these young people, interpreted as drivers of the economic and social failure of the future in Brazil. However, little is known about the life situation of these young people, that is, about their embodied geographies to the detriment of the personal reality that each body has actually experienced. In this logic, the project aims to analyze the life experiences of young people from the city of Presidente Prudente (SP) who neither study nor work, considering their city experiences, as well as their conceptions of health, education and work, using Qualitative Research as an exploratory method based on tools such as, for example, interviews, intersectional analysis, etc. Given this, the expected result is a greater and better understanding of the reality of these young people beyond the economicist conception, given that this project is supported by the trajectories, experiences and life experiences of these young people, based on the promotion of health for them.
