Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze a policy of affirmative actions to bring black students to the universities, based on the perspective of the integration of students to the university. At the first phase, an inventory about integration of students will be applied to 40 students who entered Unicamp using the PAAIS system. At the second phase, an interview will be realized with 5 students. This project is based on theoretic perspectives that show the ambiguity involving the myth of racial democracy and the presence and dynamics of racism in Brazilian social relationships. The study is one of the dimensions of a higher project (in construction, to be sent to FAPESP), that includes the historic dimensions of Brazilian racism, the prejudice against blacks in Brazilian society, the presence of affirmative actions in the discourse and practices in recent years, the study of the black student and his integration to university.
