Abstract

(EN) The present invention relates to a composition comprising the alcoholic extract of the jabuticaba fruit skin (Myrciaria caulifolia) for use in the treatment of metabolic processes, such as weight loss and/or reduction of weight gain, as well as prostate lesions due to ageing. The phenolic profile of the composition of jabuticaba skin extract imparts to the present invention potent anti-cholesterolemic, anti-angiogenic, anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative effects, besides the capacity to modulate hormone and glucose metabolism.
