She holds a degree in Animal Science from the University of São Paulo (1992), a master's in Animal Nutrition and Production (1997), and a Ph.D. in Food Science (2001) from the same institution. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at FZEA/USP and a research internship at the University of Vermont, USA. She is a research scientist at the Instituto de Zootecnia, São Paulo State Government, coordinator of the Graduate Program in Sustainable Animal Production, and leads the extension group Ruminant Welfare.
