Graduated in Industrial Chemistry at the Federal University of Sergipe (1972), Graduated in Chemical Engineering at the State University of Maringá (1976), Master in Food Engineering at the State University of Campinas (1980), Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at the State University of Campinas (1988) and Post-Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University (USA) (1993). She joined the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FEQ) at the State University of Campinas in 1972 and was a Full Professor and head of the Department of Biotechnological Processes, and the Department of Materials and Bioprocess Engineering. She was Coordinator o f Graduate Students and has experience in teaching Chemical Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She coordinated the Laboratory for the Development of Biotechnological Processes, where she developed research in three main lines: 1. Encapsulation and controlled release of drugs and cosmetics using nano and microstructures (particles and fibers). 2. Submerged and solid-state fermentation for the production of hyaluronic acid and humic acids. 3. Production and Characterization of Platelet-Rich Plasma for Regenerative Medicine applications. Elected full member of the National Academy of Engineering (2014); Zerefino Vazde Scientific Productivity Award (2002; 2015). Graduated from the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine ("American Board of Regenerative Medicine - South America Chapter") (2016). She retired from Unicamp on 06/2021. She is currently a CTO at the company NanoBioplus Pesquisas Tecnológicas Ltda. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
