He holds a Masters degree (2000) and a Ph.D. (2007) in Parasitic Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz), a CAPES grade 7 graduate program, with a doctoral internship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, Atlanta, USA, 20032005). He completed two international postdoctoral fellowships, at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, Paris, France, 2009) and at the University of Kansas (Lawrence, USA, 2011).bHe was a Young Investigator (FAPESP) at UNICAMP, where he coordinated several projects, including a scientific cooperation agreement with CNRS (20172020). He also served as Visiting Professor at the Institute of Biology (UFBA) and was awarded a CNPq Research Productivity Fellowship (PQ-2, 20202023). Currently, he is a Visiting Professor at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ) and a collaborator at the National and International Reference Laboratory in Triatomine Taxonomy (IOC/Fiocruz). His research focuses on population genetics, phylogeny, systematics, ecological niche modeling, and morphometrics applied to medical entomology and molecular eco-epidemiology, with emphasis on vectors of Chagas disease. He has also served on the Graduate Program in Ecology and Environmental Monitoring (UFPB, 20142016) and the Internationalization Committee of the Graduate Program in Evolutionary Biology (UFBA, 20212023).
