Resumo

O objetivo principal deste projeto temático é aprofundar os conhecimentos sobre intervenções na primeira infância e os seus efeitos sobre as trajetórias de desenvolvimento cognitivo, social e emocional infantil até a idade escolar. Especial ênfase é dada ao surgimento de transtornos mentais como desfecho fenotípico primário. Para tanto, iremos testar três programas de intervenção em primeira infância com diferentes características: um currículo pré-escolar para promoção de habilidades socioemocionais e prevenção de problemas de comportamento, um programa de visitação domiciliar para gestantes adolescentes em alta vulnerabilidade e seus filhos durante os primeiros dois anos de vida com objetivo de desenvolver habilidades parentais, e duas modalidades terapêuticas para a intervenção precoce do transtorno de déficit de atenção/hiperatividade. Iremos investigar os efeitos destes programas sobre o substrato biológico subjacente às trajetórias desenvolvimentais, especificamente sobre os padrões eletroneurofisiológicos, de estrutura e atividade cerebral. Assim, iremos gerar dados inéditos sobre como programas de intervenção na primeira infância impactam o desenvolvimento cognitivo, social e emocional e quais são os seus efeitos sobre a prevenção de transtornos mentais ao longo da infância. Por meio destes objetivos, iremos consolidar uma plataforma para realização de ensaios controlados randomizados em saúde mental infantil em nosso meio e estabelecer um laboratório de neurociência desenvolvimental para a caracterização das trajetórias do desenvolvimento cerebral e dos efeitos de intervenções na primeira infância.
