Possui graduação em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1996), mestrado em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1999), doutorado em Engenharia de Alimentos pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2004) e pós-doutorado na mesma Instituição (2004-2005). Atua como professora do curso de graduação em Engenharia de Alimentos na Faculdade de Zootecnia e Engenharia de Alimentos (FZEA) da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) desde 10/2005. É professora e orientadora de mestrado e doutorado no curso de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia de Alimentos da USP desde sua criação, no ano de 2009. Atualmente é Professora Associada (MS-5) e coordenadora do Programa de Pós-graduação em Engenharia de Alimentos. Foi coordenadora local do Programa de Aperfeiçoamento de Ensino (PAE) de 2012 a 2016. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia de Alimentos, com ênfase em Processos de Separação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: extração líquido-líquido, extração sólido-líquido, tecnologia de óleos e gorduras vegetais e animais, equilíbrio líquido-líquido, desacidificação de óleos vegetais, desterpenação/fracionamento de óleos essenciais, solubilidade de compostos nutracêuticos, modelagem termodinâmica e simulação de processos e aproveitamento de resíduos agroindustriais.
