Abstract

This project aims to think collaboratively, in multiple interactions between researchers from Brazil (Unicamp, Unifesp, Unesp, USP, UFRJ, UFSC, UFRN, UFES, UFRGS, UFSM), Argentina (UNRN, UNC, UNAJ, CONICET) and Colombia (UA, PUC, Colectivo Otros Presentes), about one problem: what can the alliances between Arts, Sciences and Communications in the face of the Anthropocene offer us? Our team's experiences lead us to think that the answer to this question goes beyond the mere denunciation of the dangerous forces at play in the Anthropocene, and of convincing the public of such dangers, getting us to a "perceiving-making forest". It does so because it turns its languages into laboratories-workshops of experimentation on sensitive ways of living, feeling and thinking together that take a critique of anthropocentrism seriously, that invent themselves in affirmative alliances with creatures other than humans, that experience a non-opposition between natures and cultures and assume that narratives are also part of the ways of existing that have to be cared for, of the refuges that must be rebuilt and of the habitable worlds that must be cultivated. In order to test this hypothesis we will carry out a research based on the methodology of speculative fabulation, having plants, animals, rivers, clouds and bacteria as companies. The research will involve: 1) comparative analyzes of artistic, scientific and cultural experiences with the Anthropocene, conceived in the last 20 years by the team itself and by other teams in Europe and the United States; 2) conceptual and methodological invention; 3) collective processes of research and creation in online seminars and undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines; 4) an artistic residency that will take place in the Amazon forest, as part of the Amazon Face Project, as well as in Campinas, in the Mata Santa Genebra, on the banks of the Anhumas River, in ateliers of regional artists, in the gardens and laboratories of UNICAMP and in workshop meetings with the project team and guest scientists; and 5) artistic, scientific and cultural communication.
