Abstract

Monitoring the trends and the social inequalities of food pattern and nutritional status is an essential task in a country with one of the highest wealth concentration and striking social contrasts. This project is aimed to carry out a survey on food consumption and nutritional status of the population living in the urban area of Campinas, SP. It is a cross-sectional population based survey with two stages cluster sample. The minimum sample size is 1.000 individuals for each age strata: adolescents, adults and elderly, comprising a total sample of 3.000 individuals. The questionary includes topics on weight, height, body self-perception, and intents to loose weight, frequency of ingestion of "healthy" and of "unhealthy" foods and self-evaluation of the quality of diet. Food ingestion will be estimated by 24h recall and weight and height measurement will be taken in a sub-sample for validation analysis. The interviewer will be nutritionist students. This research will be carried out on the same sample of the ISACamp 2013, a survey that will collect data on several health dimensions, what will benefit the analysis of the ISACamp - Nutri 2013.
