Abstract

This study aims to analyze the assistance provided by the prison health teams to people who live with HIV/aids (PLWHA), deprived of their liberty. This is a descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in six prisons in the region of Ribeirão Preto (SP). The population of the study will be composed of persons deprived of their liberty with the diagnosis of HIV/aids in situations of confinement for more than 6 months. Data will be collected through interviews with support of a structured questionnaire that covers six sections: data on sociodemographic profile; Data on sexual practice; Clinical data and monitoring of cases; Data on pathways in the prison system; Data on the dimension range of actions and services offered by the prison units to PLWHA; Data on the dimension coordination (integration) of care. In data analysis, descriptive statistical techniques will be used and indicators related to the offering and integration of actions and health services will be created, which will correspond to the average value of the answers of all respondents for each item of the questionnaire. Indicators will be classified as unsatisfactory (between 1 and 2.5 corresponding to values up to 50% of the scale), regular (greater than 2.5 and less than 3.5 corresponding to values between 50% and 70% of the scale) and satisfactory (greater than 3.5 corresponding to values greater than 70% of the scale). In addition, the association of these indicators with the variables of the sociodemographic profile will be tested by multiple correspondence analysis. (AU)
