Development of electrochemistry sensors and methods of solid phase extraction based in biomimetic systems for analysis of environmental pollutants

Abstract

This project aims the development of an analytical method based on bi-biomimetic systems for the determination of pesticides carbofuran, diuron and 2,4-D, which are widely used in the country in plantations of corn, cotton, rice, wheat, cane sugar, potato, tomato, among others. The construction of the bi-biomimetic systems will be based in the junction of two analytical tools that have been shown to be promising in the sensitive and selective determination of analytes different; biomimetic sensors and molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP). In this project, for the construction of biomimetic sensors will be employed compounds analogous to the active site of P450 enzymes structure, and in this case the metal-based phthalocyanine and porphyrin complexes fit perfectly. These complexes are immobilized on the surface of glassy carbon electrodes and carbon paste. On the other hand, the molecularly imprinted polymers or MIPs ("Molecularly Imprinted Polymers"), which will be characterized by scanning atomic force microscopy (AFM) electron microscopy (SEM), and can be directly fixed on the surfaces of electrodes for development of biomimetic, or sensors, can be used as adsorbent materials in solid phase extraction systems (MISPE) in order to carry out a clean-up and pre-concentration of samples to be analyzed later by biomimetic sensors built previously. It is expected that this design biomimetic systems developed to become a real alternative tool in the analysis of pesticides in the environment and in food and the coupled online with the biomimetic sensors MISPE, to obtain bi-biomimetic systems which can ensure a methodology for analyzing highly sensitive, selective and applicable.
