Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the ideal profile of essential amino acids (AA) for breeders and broilers of Cobb 500 genotype using the deletion method. The essential amino acids (EAA) that will be studied are lysine (1), methionine + cystine (2), threonine (3), tryptophan (4), isoleucine (5), leucine (6), histidine (7), phenylalanine +tyrosine (8), glycine + serine (9), valine (10) and arginine (11). The trials with broilers will be conducted in three periods (6-21, 22-37 and 38 to 53 days) with 72 birds each. It will be 12 treatments and six replicates of one bird each. The trials will last 15 days and will be obtained nitrogen intake (NI) and nitrogen deposition (ND) in the nitrogen balance trials. In the breeders trial 96 breeder hens will be used with 24 weeks of age. There will be 12 treatments and eight replicates of one bird each. The NI and ND will be collected at 10 weeks after diet adaptation. For broiler and breeder hens, the diets will be obtained similarly. The 12 treatments will be a control diet (CP) and 11 diets 30% deficient in each EAA. The CP diet will meet the ideal ratio of Brazilian tables. The CP diet will be diluted with corn starch to meet 70% of the requirements and the other treatments will be achieved by supplementation of industrial AA in the deficient diets, except the EAA to be tested. In each treatment it will be calculated the efficiency of utilization of the EAA and the ideal ratio will be obtained by dividing the efficiencies. In the third test will be used 132 roosters with 22 treatments and six replicates of one bird each. Within five days of testing will be collected NI and ND. The treatments will be 11 diets meeting the requirements of the EAA for maintenance, except the AA to be studied (reduced 50%) at two levels of NI (0.25 and 0.50 g N/PCkg0.75/d). The diets will be supllied by precision feeding techique. For each EAA will be traced a straight line and the maintenance requirement will be determined by the amount to maintain nitrogen balance.
