Abstract

The debate about the Preservation of Urban and Architectural Heritage passes for a discussion about the ways to intervene in the pre-existence built. The rehabilitation projects of architectural structures using conservation practices, maintenance, reconstruction, demolition, additions and innovations imply changes in the heritage to be preserved. The restoration involves transformations; a hasty project decision can lead to irreparable losses. These interventions require a greater capacity to interpret the shapes, besides considering the formal and documentary aspects of the work. The research aims to investigate the process of the contemporary urban and architecture project, from the reflections on the practice of architectural intervention in industrial railway heritage of interest to preserve. Uses the old set of workshops Companhia Paulista in Jundiaí, as an object of study. Studying the work of rehabilitation of buildings for FATEC, in Jundiaí, made in 2002. Search, therefore, analyze and reflect on the foundations used by designers, using as reference the analytical principles of restoration theory and guidelines concerning property cards. Falls in research "Memória Ferroviária" (Process 2012/11259-2), which aims to realize the full inventory of industrial heritage complexes in São Paulo. Collaborates thus documenting and analyzing the redevelopment of the architectural ensemble. Also intends to contribute to consolidating the group of research Project, Architecture and Town- line of research Heritage and Project interventions - lab Núcleo de Estudos em Patrimônio e Projeto (NePP) of UNESP - Campus de Presidente Prudente.
