Abstract

Restrictions economic and environment constraints need to replace fishmeal in diets of aquatic organisms by less expensive raw materials of vegetable origin. However, such vegetable protein sources, e.g. soybean meal, have antinutritive factors that can have negative effects on the digestive system of the fish, changing the healthiness, and consequently, production. For to study these possible effects or not these sources in diets for omnivores and carnivores, the objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of various plant protein sources on performance, hematology, histology and microbiota of the intestinal epithelium of pacu Piaractus mesopotamicus and dourado Salminus brasiliensis, respectively, fed experimental diets based on soybean meal.. Two experiments, digestibility (Trial I) and performance (Trial II) will be conducted. The digesbility trial will be conducted in standard protocol using diets with inert marker oxide chromium III (Cr2O3) and modified system Guelph for feces. In the performance test will be evaluated three plant protein sources, soybean meal (SM), cottonseed meal (CM) and peanut meal (PM), used to replace fishmeal in a diet control in five levels inclusion: 0 (control), 12.5%; 25.0%; 50.0%; 75.0% and 100%, in a randomized block design (n=3). Throughout the experimental period will be collected samples of gut of eight animals in the anterior, medial and distal segments and samples of blood. Samples of intestinal tissue will be analyzed as histological and morphological characteristics, besides quantification and differentiation of goblet cells. Blood samples will be evaluated for immunological parameters, serum lysozyme, total protein and serum albumin. Through PCR, scanning and transmission microscopy electron will be evaluated the intestinal microbiota of this species. Additionally, will be evaluated the histological liver conditions. (AU)
