Abstract Introduction: A sedentary lifestyle contributes to the progressive decrease in functional capacity and installation of several chronic diseases. The practice of physical exercises directed to the development of muscle strength is recommended as a means to mitigate or reverse the negative effects related to physical inactivity. In this sense, the resistance strength training has been outstanding, accomplished by loading or constant ( fixed ) and variable ( elastic ) resistance. The use of elastic bands and tubes is relevant because they are low cost, highly versatile tools, and they provide a safe exercise during the joint action of the muscle group, besides having high practicality. Aims: To evaluate the effects of resistance training with elastic tubing in insufficiently active adults , and to compare the effects of conventional resistance training (weight training ) on muscle strength, functional capacity, systemic inflammatory response and quality of life. Methods: insufficiently active older than 45 years Adults will be divided into three groups, one group will carry the force of resistance training with elastic tubing (GR1), will hold another training conventional resistive force (GR2) and a control group (GR3) . The level of physical activity (IPAQ), quality of life (SF-36), lung function (spirometry), inflammatory response (cytokines), functional capacity (6MWT), and muscle strength (grip strength) will be evaluated. After both GR1 and GR2 will be subjected to training programs for 12 weeks with 3 sessions per week, lasting 60 minutes. After 6 and 12 weeks of training individuals will be reassessed. Statistical analysis: For intergroup analysis will be used One- way ANOVA followed by Tukey test or Kruskal - Wallis test followed by Dunn's test test depending on the normality of the data. For intragroup analysis will be used analysis of variance for repeated measures ANOVA Followed by Tukey test case is not checked the normality of the data will be applied Friedman test Followed by Dunn test. The level of significance is p <0.05. | |
