Abstract The aim of this study will be to investigate the bone metabolism dynamics of bone / implant interface in SHR rats that will have the implant placement and analyze what the influences that losartan treatment may lead to peri-implant bone. Forty-eight male rats will be used, 24 (SHR) and normotensive 24 (Wistar). Surgery will be performed to install an implant textured surface, or Neoporos and Acqua in each animal tibia, that is, two implants of surfaces per animal. The analysis will be divided according into groups and subgroups: Analysis I- the tibia (n = 6) will be used for MicroCT analysis; Analysis II- the tibia (n = 6), shall be submitted to decalcification process for paraffin embedding, and the cut with semi-serial sections will be mounted and will be used for immunohistochemical analysis with antibodies VEGF, OPG, RANKL and OC; tibia will be used for histological analysis, where the quality of the bone tissue maturation, inflammation and cell morphology will be assessed. All quantitative results will be statistically analyzed adopting a 5% significance level. (AU) | |
