Abstract

Recognizing the relevance of the participation of the attributions of causality (CAs) to the schooling process, it is considered essential to devise means to measure them. Therefore, it is important to perform psychometric studies of these measures. Due to this demand, the present project destined to the grant of the Internship Research Internship abroad (BEPE) is linked to the candidate's master's project, titled Study of Validity Evidence of the Causality Attribution Assessment Scale for Elementary School Students (EAVAT-EF) and its implications for the school context.. The present project proposes to expand the investigations of the validity evidences for the Assessment Scale for Causality Attributions for Elementary School Students (EAVAT-EF). The search for evidence of criterion validity in the face of the historical variable of repetition or non-repetition and of school performance is proposed, considering the students' scores in Portuguese and mathematics, as well as the self-perception of the student in relation to their performance in the classroom. It is also intended to verify the explanatory level of CAs for achievement goals, evaluated by the Learning Motivation Assessment Scale (EMAPRE), in order to corroborate the investigation of evidence of validity based on related constructs. The sample evaluated will be the same as the Bolsa de Pais project. It is foreseen the participation of 700 students of the two cycles of Elementary School of municipal public schools that will respond to EAVAT-EF and EMAPRE-EF. The collection will be started and finalized in the second half of 2017. The analyzes regarding the validity evidences proposed for this project will be carried out in the Post-Graduation Program in Psychology of the São Francisco University. The description and discussion of the results will be carried out in the Graduate Program in Educational Psychology at the Institute of Education of the Minho University, considering the theoretical and practical subsidies of two classes to be studied and the orientation of Prof. Dr. Leandro da Silva Almeida. It conjectures as gains the accumulation of validity evidence for EAVAT-EF, which corroborates the support of the interpretations of its results, making it an increasingly adequate instrument for the evaluation of CAs in basic education.
