Abstract

The fungus Lasiodiplodia pseudotheobromae has already been isolated from plants, fruit trees and forests. It has a vast distribution around the world and a wide range of hosts. In this project, we intend to carry out the chemical prospection of the methanolic extract of the fungal line L. pseudotheobromae-1A14 associated with the invertebrate Aplidium accarense aiming the knowledge of its potential schistosomicidal. The class Ascidiacea (Ascidians) produces an incredible variety of structurally novel and pharmacologically interesting substances. This species was selected for study within the Regular Research Project "Investigation of the Schistosomicidal, Leishmanicidal and Cytotoxic Potential of Fungal Lineages Associated with Marine Invertebrates Belonging to the Ascidiacea." (Fapesp Process 2017 / 14261-1). The schistosomicidal assay will be performed by evaluating the life cycle of the Schistosoma mansoni vector. The analytical methodologies to be used will involve chromatographic separation techniques (CC and CLAE / DAD) and the structural characterization of the isolated compounds will the assign on the bases of uni and bi-dimensional NMR experiments. The main goal of this proposal will be to identify natural substances of the marine microbiota with schistosomicidal potential, besides contributing to the formation of human resources in the marine natural products area in the country.
