Abstract Biomedicine research is directing its effort to achieve fast, simple, point-of-care analytical devices for disease diagnosis in order to reduce the analysis time and cost of the current diagnostic methods. Label-free electrochemical biosensor based on redox capacitance fulfils those characteristics. It has been widely proved its capability in biosensing at low concentrations. The aim of this project is to apply this sensitive and reliable technology for the detection of Flavivirus infections that have become a health-threating in many countries, such as Brazil. Diagnosis will be performed by the detection of the biomarkers NS1 and EDIII. Also, it will be analysed whether it is a recurrent infection by the quantification of IgG and IgM; and Alzheimer's Disease, the most common type of dementia. In the latter case, diagnosis will be performed by biomarkers detection in blood such as amyloid ² peptide 42 (A²42) and amyloid ²peptide 40 (A²40). (AU) | |
