Abstract

Data related to human health are being generated and accumulated in an unprecedented amount in history. The analysis and integration of this information is fundamental to improve our understanding of the pathophysiology of diseases, their transmission, as well as their diagnosis and treatment. This project aims to conduct an integrative analysis of clinical and transcriptome data under inflammatory conditions such as Yellow Fever and Sepsis, and to investigate the complex interactions between biological components. For this, we will perform differential expression analysis, identification of specific gene modules for each of the inflammatory conditions, and enrichment analysis of signaling pathways of transcriptome data. We will also analyze the clinical data, identifying risk factors, predictors, prognoses and diagnoses associated with the diseases. Finally, we will integrate clinical and molecular data using machine learning tools to identify genes whose acute phase expression allows predicting patient mortality. It is hoped that the results generated with this project can clarify several molecular mechanisms of the diseases studied and improve the quality of life of patients. (AU)
