Abstract
Handball, like other team sports, is characterized by a dynamic technical-tactical-training environment that is unpredictable and with high complexity, and be dependent upon interactions between teammates and between opponents. In this context the players must make their decisions to accomplish the objectives related to each stage of the game (offensive and defensive). In the light of the information perceived in the game environment, players uses their repertoire of possibilities, based on previous experiences and teaching methods to which they were subjected, and not to present predictable and stereotyped behaviors. The importance of the coaches' opinion is based on aspects such as the comprehension of the teaching-learning-training process (from the initiation to high performance) and the search for indicative of the content distribution along this process. Thus, the coach has a decisive role in the search for better results, and the meanings assigned to competition and training to young players. Therefore, the discourses of handball coaches will be analyzed, as well the specific literature review regarding the handball. (AU)
