Abstract

The purpose of this PhD project is to study what is the contribution of a Chemistry museum exhibition in a Science museum or Science center to the intrinsic motivation and the experience of flow in visitors, verifying how these factors are related to the public perception about Chemistry scientific researches developed in public universities. To do that, the scholarship student will be responsible to elaborate a Chemistry exhibition in a museum involving elements capable of contribute to the intrinsic motivation and the state of flow. The exhibition, beyond that, must be composed of contemporary aspects involving Chemistry, from the presentation of scientific researches developed by the Thematic Project n. 2017/10118-0 entitled "Estudo e aplicação da tecnologia eletroquímica para a análise e a degradação de interferentes endócrinos: materiais, sensores, processos e divulgação científica". The data collection will be done in a qualitative and a quantitative approach, using Likert scale questionnaires and a semistructured interview with the museum visitors. With this project, we hope to contribute to the approximation between universities and Science museums and Science centers, aiming the popularization of contemporary knowledge to those who don't attend the formal education anymore.
