He is an Associate Professor I at the School of Applied Sciences at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), specializing in food technology, composition, and analysis. He holds degrees in Agronomy, Viticulture, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Technology, and Engineering, with a focus on the extraction and analysis of natural products. He has collaborated on over 20 national and international research projects, notably the European Food Information Resource Network of Excellence (EuroFIR) project coordinated by the Institute of Food Research (IFR) and funded by the European Union. He has published 135 articles in specialized journals, 14 book chapters, and numerous papers at scientific conferences. His h-index is 39 (Scopus). He is the inventor of 17 patents.His main research areas include the extraction, purification, and analysis of bioactive compounds from natural products; combining and coupling extraction and analysis techniques and processes; and studying the functional properties of plant extracts (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities). Frequent terms in his scientific and technological production include: phenolic compounds; extraction (using supercritical fluids, pressurized liquids, ultrasound-assisted, microwave-assisted); solid-phase extraction; chromatography (liquid and supercritical); antioxidant activity, and anti-inflammatory activity.He coordinated a research project under the FAPESP Young Investigator program, which involved developing an integrated extraction and analysis system to determine bioactive compounds in natural products using new technologies. He is currently the coordinator of a research project under the FAPESP Young Investigator Phase 2 program and an international cooperation project (PrInt-CAPES).
