Abstract
We aim at building an analytical platform for glycan identification and quantification. The analysis of mono, oligo and polysaccharides will offer the possibility of studying the modulation of the cellular, tissue and biofluid glycome in different biological systems. Differential glycan expression has been associated to several diseases from cancer, infectious diseases and others. In particular, glycoproteins, glycolipids, proteoglycans, and other glycoconjugates have been suggested as possible candidate biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Due to that, their analysis and structural characterization is important to fully elucidate the glycome in pathophysiological conditions. (AU)
