Abstract

The film of natural latex (NRL - Natural Rubber Latex), manipulated from the latex from the rubber tree Hevea brasiliensis , has shown great potential for application in biomedicine and biomaterials. Due to its biocompatibility and low bounce rate, it has been used for prostheses acting as a stimulant of angiogenesis, cell adhesion and extracellular matrix , as well as acting as a physical barrier to infectious agents. Recent studies have demonstrated that controlled release of drugs and extracts using natural rubber latex membranes is an interesting and promising alternative for biomedical applications .The goal of this project is to incorporate Rutina to the polyvinylpyrrolidone K - 30 (PVP K - 30) polymer in latex membranes with the purpose of studying their behaviors and releases sustained manner. The drug - PVP - film complex would be a new approach in wound treatment aimed and regeneration of tissue. The release rates of rutin and PVP K -30 PVP- complex , rutin film are monitored and analyzed using the method of optical spectroscopy (UV- VIS) and infrared ( FTIR ), and X ray diffraction analyzes ( XRD ) and scanning technique associated with energy dispersive X -ray (SEM -EDS ) electron microscopy.
