Abstract

Among the forms of appreciation of jabuticaba peels are the extraction of biocompounds with application in the pharmaceutical and food industry. The extraction of biocompounds with higher added value from the jabuticaba peel encourages the reduction of environmental impacts and incentives the biorefinery in the fruit's production chain. The objective of this project is to recover biocomponents from jabuticaba peels through Microwave-Assisted Solid Phase Extraction (MASPE) and to develop rapid methods for the analysis of these compounds using chromatographic techniques. The MASPE allows simultaneous extraction and purification has not yet been used for phenolic compounds, which characterizes an innovation in the area of study. In this context, this proposal consists of a short stay at the University of Cadiz (UCA) to develop new fast analysis methods using state-of-the-art technologies. Additionally, the developed methods will be used to identify and quantitate the compounds present in the samples, as also will optimize the conditions of the adsorbents for the continuation of the study in the country with the on-line coupling of the extraction and purification. Furthermore, the experience abroad will greatly contribute to my academic education and will consolidate the ongoing collaboration between research groups from UNICAMP and from UCA. (AU)
