Ergodic and qualitative theories of dynamical systems III

Abstract

This project is a continuation of two previous thematic projects: Ergodic and Qualitative Theories of Dynamical Systems (process 2013/24541-0) and Ergodic and Qualitative Theories of Dynamical Systems II (process 2019/10269-3). Our goal is to study problems in the field of dynamical systems and their connections with other areas such as Analysis, Number Theory, and Topology. The problems to be studied in this project fall into two major research lines: Continuous Dynamical Systems and Discrete Dynamical Systems. The host institution for the project is UNESP, São José do Rio Preto campus. In this third edition, UNICAMP will serve as a partner institution in the development of the thematic project. The main research team consists of researchers with significant scientific output, experience in supervising doctoral students, and coordinating projects. The main researchers from previous editions (Buzzi, Messaoudi, and Silva - UNESP) have been retained, and new scientific leaders have been included as main researchers (Novaes, Garibaldi, and Varão) from UNICAMP. These new main researchers have distinguished themselves in producing results in the proposed research theme, as well as in internationalization, human resource development, and coordinating new projects. In a later stage, should this proposal be approved, around 17 new researchers will be included in the full project. The associated researchers to be included are young researchers from other UNESP campuses, from other institutions in the state of São Paulo, as well as experienced researchers from Brazil and abroad who are frequent collaborators with the main researchers. As in previous editions, the project will be guided by the following actions: i) national and international exchange with high-level visiting professors from both Brazilian institutions and international institutions from countries such as France, Spain, Portugal, England, the United States, Belgium, and Chile; ii) participation in conferences and visits to centers of excellence; iii) publication of the results obtained in journals of recognized scientific value; iv) training and qualification of human resources.
